Religious Education Program (R.E.P.)

The 2010-2011 is posted to the left.  Please note that if your children are registered for Tuesdays, they will attend either on week "A" or on week "B".  The dates are not interchangeable; they are separate sessions with different catechists.   You will also find the dates for First Communion and Confirmation for 2010-2011.

We will host an open house on the first night of Tuesday Week A and Week B or the first Saturday morning, depending on when your children attend R.E.P.  We will begin in Diantha Hall with prayer, introduction of catechists, and then parents are invited to visit classrooms and talk with catechists.

We look forward to seeing you in September and to having the children return to R.E.P.

St. Mary provides a thorough catechesis in the Roman Catholic Tradition for all parish children so they might grow in their faith journey in communion with the Church and its life of prayer and mission. Catechesis is also offered for parents who have children celebrating the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.  The Religious Education Program operates under the direction of the policies and procedures of the Archdiocese of Chicago and in particular under the guidlines of the Office for Catechesis and Youth Ministry.

As you know, our program depends entirely on the good hearts of our volunteer catechists.  do you see your self as someone who would love to share your faith with children?  Do you have 4 hours every month to give to us?  Would you like to grow in your own faith by sharing it with others?  Would you like to not pay tuition for your own children?  If you can answer "yes" to any of these questions, then perhaps you have heard the call to this ministry.  Please call me and we can discuss what being a catechist entails.
