Introduction
The "new" church at St. Mary of the Annunciation, dedicated on April 14 2002, was the result of a significant investment of time, talent, and treasure by hundreds of people. At the heart of their effort were a core set of values -- some dictated by Church norms and others expressed by parishioners -- that the artists and architects felt obliged to honor. Besides practical and esthetic considerations, there are theological and philosophical dimensions behind the visible presentation one sees as a visitor. The best understanding of these can be gained by undertaking a physical tour of the facilities, accompanied by one of our trained guides who can explain the unseen dimensions of the art and design at St. Mary of the Annunciation. This electronic brochure does not presume to replace a personal tour, which we highly recommend. For those who have not yet visited our facilities, the brochure is an introduction to a sacred space of which we are very proud. For others, who have been there, it is perhaps a reminder of the many physical and spiritual facets that surround one when present in that space.
