Holy Family Food Pantry is happy to announce that we are in the third year of the BIKES (Building Independence, Keeping Economic Stability) program. With this depressed economy and high gas prices, many people continue to struggle with transportation issues.
Utilizing a bike may be their only means of searching for a job or performing errands to promote self-sufficiency. During our first year in 2008, our program provided 78 adults working bikes. In 2009, we were able to assist 104 different clients with bikes, locks and helmets.
We are currently accepting adult bikes, locks, helmets (used or new) and monetary donations on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 am to 1 pm at 912 8th St. Waukegan, Il 60085.
We have a waiting list of Lake County residents looking for our help. Please feel free to contact Gene Sekel at Holy Family Food Pantry 847-623-2112 if you would like to make a donation, arrange for a pick up or if you know of someone that would benefit by this program.
